**Gossip & Slander

By participating in this community, you agree to abide by these guidelines. Your participation implies your agreement to be bound by these rules, which are designed to foster a Christ-centered, respectful, and uplifting environment.

  1. **Definition of Gossip** – Gossip is speaking about someone in a way that creates a negative image of them, often involving unverified or private information. It can harm reputations, sow discord, and break trust. Any claim or accusation without the support of two or three witnesses will be considered gossip and false witness. If you have proof of something, please take it to the moderators *after praying about it for a minimum of 24 hours*. – *Scriptural Basis*: “Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses” (2 Corinthians 13:1).
  2.  **No Public “Warnings” About Others** – Publicly warning other members about someone’s behavior is considered gossip and will not be tolerated. If you have a concern about another member, bring it directly to the moderators for review. – *Scriptural Basis*: “Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down” (Proverbs 26:20).
  3.  **Report Concerns, Don’t Spread Them** – If you feel someone’s behavior is inappropriate, report it to the moderators rather than discussing it with others. Moderators will handle all concerns confidentially and biblically to maintain peace within the community. – *Scriptural Basis*: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9).
  4.  **Zero Tolerance for Gossip** – Public gossip, slander, or spreading rumors—whether true or false—will result in immediate consequences. At a minimum, if you make a negative comment about a member of the opposite sex, all members of that sex will be notified by name that you are spreading gossip. Additionally, you are subject to immediate removal from the app without further warning.
  5. **Even Listening to Gossip is Harmful** – Listening to gossip makes you complicit in its harm and contributes to division within the community. Avoid giving ear to negative or divisive talk. – *Scriptural Basis*: “An evildoer listens to wicked lips, and a liar gives ear to a mischievous tongue” (Proverbs 17:4).

These guidelines are here to protect the integrity of our community and reflect Christ’s call to love, grace, and accountability. Let your words build others up and honor God in all interactions (*Ephesians 4:29*).
